Kimberly Johnson, FOunder & Lead Facilitator

Kimberly Johnson is a native of Montgomery County, Maryland.

As a graduate student at the Maryland University of Integrative Health, she learned of the growing body of evidence supporting mindfulness-based programs for health, especially mental health.

Diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder in 2015, she was personally and professionally interested in how eight-week programs like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy could help her improve and manage her mental health.

In 2022, she founded the Mindfulness Program for the African American Health Program of Montgomery County. She is passionate about providing compassionate and evidence-based services to support the mental and emotional health of her community.
